Pursuing the Truth

Here is an exhortation that is always needed. May we read and heed for Christ’s glory and the sake of our brethren. Amen!


When we pursue the truth we will be pursuing Jesus Christ, who said that He is the truth.  That will mean that we will seek to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory both now and forever.  Amen.  2 Peter 3:18

This last verse of 2 Peter starts with a conjunction that contrasts the last half of the statement with that which precedes it.  We find the first half of the statement in verse 17, but the thought that initiates it is in verse 16 of 2 Peter 3.

16…as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.  17 You therefore, beloved…
