Complete

God’s mercy and grace to us is amazing.  We were wicked corrupt sinners, breaking God’s holy law because of the enmity in our hearts and minds towards Him, and yet He saved us.  What amazing glorious grace!  Once we are His we can be assured that He will complete His work in us, the work that He began.  We are beholden to our God from start to finish, from initial faith to final translation to heaven.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,  (4)  Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,  (5)  For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;  (6)  Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:  (7)  Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. Philippians 1:3-7

From our welcome into the family of God through repentant faith in Jesus Christ and belief in His gospel, to our daily walk with Jesus Christ, all is the work of God in us.  He has promised to complete that work when Christ comes for us and takes us to be with Him in glory.  Everything that we have and are is because of the grace of God given to us in Christ Jesus our glorious Lord and Savior.  Following are verses from the Scriptures to encourage our hearts that we are complete in Christ from the inception of our faith, to our obedience to Him and finally our reception into glory when we are taken to be with Jesus Christ whether at our home going when we die or the rapture when Christ comes for us in glory.  Since we have all that we need in Christ Jesus, as taught to us in the Holy Scriptures, there is nothing that we lack.  Therefore, we must always beware of those who would lead us away from Christ into the false teaching of fallen man, spoiling our faith and trust in Him.

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; (2) That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; (3) In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  (4)  And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.  (5)  For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.  (6)  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: (7) Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.  (8)  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  (9)  For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.  (10)  And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power: Colossians 2:1-10

We walk in the same faith that saved us when we turned from our sin, put our faith in Jesus Christ and believed that He died upon the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead for our justification.  Jesus Christ has saved us, and has also given us the ability to walk in Him, pleasing God in all that we say and do.  We must look to Jesus Christ always as Savior and Lord, and never resort to the wicked departures by fallen man from the faith once for all delivered to the saints.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  (13)  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  (9)  Not of works, lest any man should boast.  (10)  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:8-10

We can always give God glory for the work He has equipped us to do as we in fear and trembling obey His Word and follow our Lord in all that we do.  May we believe and obey these words of encouragement found in God’s Holy Word given to us for our edification and blessing.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it;  (26)  That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  (27)  That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.  Ephesians 5:25-27

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: (14) Whereunto He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.  2 Thessalonians 2:13-14

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  (2)  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  (3)  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  (4)  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.  Colossians 3:1-4

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,  (25)  To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25

Jesus Christ has perfected us, and continues to perfect us.  He will bring us into His presences with glory and joy.  This promise is only for those whose life is found in Jesus Christ, in other words, for those for Whom Jesus Christ is their life.  So my beloved brethren we must jealously guard our faith in Jesus Christ, keep our trust centered upon God’s Word which is the truth, walk daily with Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, pray always to our God and obey His Holy Word.  Amen!

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  (15)  Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  (16)  That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;  (17)  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  (18)  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  (19)  And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.  (20)  Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (21) Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

Lord Jesus Christ You have saved us, You sanctify us, and You will bring us to be with You in heaven.  May we always keep our eyes on You, walk with You, and believe what You have told us in Your Word.  Amen!
