Perhaps the enemy of our souls is spreading this erroneous message so that nominal Christians can be kept safe in the clutches of his deception. When the rapture occurs and they remain behind in the kingdom of this world, they will be enveloped, of course, in a dread sense of panic. As they witness the rise of the Antichrist and his ironclad control of the world and its systems through the empowerment of the devil, they will make half-hearted attempts at repentance with faith towards Christ, and seek to meagerly resist taking the mark, but Satan will again send his messengers to appease their fearful hearts and reassure them they can take the mark of the beast and repent at leisure and so avoid eternal damnation.
What is particularly dangerous, since we see the day of the Lord fast approaching, and foundations being laid for the complete control of all through the one world government and religious system, is there is a highly respected and well esteemed teacher within the evangelical church who is teaching this very unbiblical false doctrine. He is not alone. The video at the end of this post shows this false doctrine being spread throughout the “evangelical church” with the false teachers chortling that John MacArthur teaches the same heresy. It is outrageous that any would dare contradict the clear teaching of God’s Word. However, Phil Johnson goes to great lengths to clear MacArthur of the charge of teaching heresy and himself disputes the truth of the Holy Scriptures. These men are not of God, they are led by the devil, doing his bidding by giving sanction over the mark of the beast. We must, as children of the Living God, Who is our Father, seek only what the Scriptures teach about the mark of the beast. Revelation makes it abundantly clear in numerous places that anyone who takes the mark of the beast, not only belongs to the Antichrist, but will spend eternity burning in hell.
The Antichrist deceives the whole world by the power of Satan so they gladly follow the Antichrist (Revelation 13:4). This is what God tells us in His Holy Word regarding the Antichrist and his mark.
15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. Revelation 13:15-18
Neither John MacArthur nor Phil Johnson connects taking the mark of the beast with worshiping and belonging to the Antichrist. They suppose taking his mark has solely to do with economic considerations, but that is not the case. The false prophet performs miracles to lead mankind to worship the image of the beast (Revelation 13:13-15) and so taking the mark of the beast is centered on the worship of the Antichrist. Another contention they use to support their false teaching is that there would not be any to populate the earth at the end of the tribulation if all who take the mark were condemned to perdition. However, not all will take that mark, and there will be those who enter into Christ’s millennial kingdom in the flesh. Too many of the verses about the mark of the beast state, “And those who”… which indicates not all will (Revelation 16:2).
We must consider the numerous passages that give the certainty of eternal damnation for those who take the mark of the beast because they give their loyalty and allegiance to the enemy of our souls and reject the love of God given to mankind through Jesus Christ our glorious Lord and Savior. They save their lives in this world but lose their lives for eternity, the smoke of their torment ascends forever and they have no rest day or night. Christ’s tribulation saints lose their lives during the tribulation, but save their lives for eternity, their faithful works follow them into eternity where they have eternal rest.
9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the present of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and; they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” 12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now one.’” “Yes, says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
In the next verses that follow this passage God reveals two harvests, the first in which Christ harvests His tribulation saints who reject the mark of the beast and hold fast their testimony of faith, and the second in which God judges the kingdom of the Antichrist, those who have taken the mark of his name.
14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. 17 Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, ”Thrust in your sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” 19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs. Revelation 14:14-20
The above passage speaks of two harvests, Christ harvesting his tribulation saints, converted after the rapture, and the harvest of the wicked through God’s judgment upon the diabolical kingdom of the Antichrist. The next verses show the saints harvested by Christ through martyrdom around the throne of God worshiping Him, these are Christ’s tribulation saints from the Jews and from the Gentiles who have been converted to faith in Christ through the ministry of the 144,000 evangelists taken from the twelve tribes of Israel.
1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete. 2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. 3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O king of the saints! 4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”
After this scene of the saints worshiping God around His throne comes the final judgments of God upon the kingdom of the Antichrist through the seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever, delivered upon the kingdom of the Antichrist through seven holy angels. The very first bowl poured out causes loathsome sores to come upon all who have worshiped the beast and taken his mark.
2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Revelation 16:2
Finally, in Revelation chapter twenty God reveals His love and mercy given to those who have been beheaded for their witness to Jesus, who refused to take the mark of the beast or worship him. They live and reign with Christ throughout His millennial kingdom.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4-6
Please see and heed, my beloved brethren, that the tribulation saints are martyred because they are warned by the Word of God not to take the mark. They belong to Jesus Christ through faith in Him and so reject the directive to worship the Antichrist and take his mark. They know those who truly belong to Christ will never compromise their faith by going along with the enemy of their souls in following the one sent in the flesh by him for all of mankind to worship and obey in contradistinction to the worship and obedience due to God the Father and His glorious Son Jesus Christ, our Great God and Savior. All who teach contrary to this clear biblical doctrine are doing the work of Satan in preparing them to worship the beast and take his mark. They are not servants of God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Dr. John MacArthur, Phil Johnson, Brannon Howse, and Jim DeYoung are spreading insidious end time deception meant to ensnare people into the kingdom of the devil who will lead the final great rebellion against God before Christ’s return through rule of the Antichrist. These men are doing the deeds of their father the devil.
43 “Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore your do not hear because you are not of God.” John 8:43-47
Lord Jesus Christ, we Your redeemed ones through faith in You do hear, believe and obey Your Word, the Holy Bible. Thank You for leaving us Your Word, the truth. May we always stay true to You for Your glory and the love of the brethren. Amen!
