God’s Priority

God Almighty through His beloved apostle John reveals to us the reason God the Father has sent God the Son into the world.

14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.  15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God.  16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.  God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God.  1 John 4:14-16

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  John 3:14-17

19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.  20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.  21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.  22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgement to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father.  He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.  24 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears my Word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.  25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.  26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.  28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.  John 5:19-29

26 Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.  27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”  28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”  29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”  30 Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You?  What work will You do?  31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”  32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.  33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”  John 6:26-33

God the Father sent Jesus Christ His Son into the world to save sinners.  Every human being on the face of the earth is a sinner by disposition and by deeds, and is therefore under God’s just wrath.  Each and every one is dead in their trespasses and sins, cut off from God by their evil works and bound for fiery hell.  These lawless deeds separate sinners from God, for He is of purer eyes than to behold sin.

10 As it is written:  “There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands: There is none who seeks after God.  12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.”  Romans 3:10-13

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.  Ephesians 2:1-3

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us.  And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.  Colossians 2:13-14

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.  Colossians 1:13-14

8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.  Revelation 21:8

In case you are one of those who believes you can do anything about your desperate peril, read again the verses above and note that no one is good, that all are dead in trespasses and sins being under the spiritual jurisdiction of the kingdom of darkness ruled by Satan, and that the sin nature renders every human being powerless to keep the commandments of God.  By the truth of the Word of God, every person is a child of wrath and bound for the second death, the lake which burns with fire and brimstone.

There is also hope given to us through these very precious passages found in God’s Holy, inspired, inerrant, infallible, preserved Word, the Bible.   God sent His Son as Savior of the world!  If we hear His Word, believe in Jesus Christ, confess that He is the Son of God, the only perfect Lamb of God who alone takes away our sins, then our sins will be forgiven, we will be delivered from the domain of Satan, saved from eternal damnation and given eternal life.

It is the precious blood of the Lamb of God that cleanses us from all sin.  Jesus Christ redeems us from sin and the just wrath of God that abides on us because of that sin through His propitiatory death upon the cross.  When Jesus Christ hung upon the cross, unjustly condemned as a common criminal, God poured out His wrath upon His Son that was due all sinners.  Jesus Christ died as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, was buried and then rose again from the dead the third day victorious over sin, death, hell and the devil.  It is through His death and resurrection on our behalf that we can be forgiven our sins and receive the gift of eternal life.

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.  When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days.  And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.  11 He shall see the labor of His soul and be satisfied.  By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many.  For He shall bear their iniquities.  12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.  Isaiah 53:10-12

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.  3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received:  that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.  6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.  7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.  8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.  9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.  10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.  11 Therefore, whether it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.  1 Corinthians 15:1-11

Dear reader, God’s priority is to save you!  God has done all through His Son Jesus Christ that is necessary for you to be forgiven of your sins, and given the gift of eternal life.  You must believe the gospel of your salvation, turn from your sin and turn to Jesus Christ, God the Son of God.  By believing in Jesus Christ and receiving Him as your Savior and Lord you are saved from the payment that is due you because of your sin, the wrath of God delivered in the Lake of Fire for eternity, and are instead made a child of the Living God.  How amazing is that?  No religious privilege of birth, no religious institution, no religious person can bequeath eternal life to you, only the Son of God, Jesus Christ, can make you a child of God.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.  11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.  12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  John 1:10-13

If you will turn from your sin and turn to Him, Jesus Christ, you will be born again by the power of the Holy Spirit and have eternal life.  You will know God and be known by Him.  He will be your Father, Jesus Christ will be your Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit will be your guide and comforter.  Won’t you trust the Savior right now for eternal life?

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—2 the life was manifested, and we have seen,  and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.  4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.  5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.  6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.  8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth in not in us.  9 If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.  1 John 1:1-10

3 “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.  John 17:3

10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because He has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.  11 And this is the testimony:  that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.  1 John 5:10-13

Lord Jesus Christ please draw sinners to Yourself through the preaching and teaching of Your Holy Word which is the only source that faithfully proclaims who You are and what You have done to save sinners.  May those who read Your Word repent of their sin and put their faith in You for eternal life as You meet with them to convict them of sin and God’s just judgment so they will turn from the way of death to You, the Way of Life.  Thank You Holy Father for sending Your Son Jesus Christ that we can be saved from our sin and Your wrath that is coming.  Thank You Holy Father that we can know You and have eternal life through faith in Your Son Jesus Christ.  May many be saved through Your gospel message by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Amen!
