The day I met Jesus Christ was a glorious day in my life. I had no idea what I was in for, but I knew that I wanted to be a Christian, along with all that meant. I wanted to pray, read the Bible, and go to church. Of course, I had no idea of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for my sins or His resurrection from the dead for my justification. I only knew that He was the only way to God.
Sadly, my “Christian” education came from popular End Times writers, Christian radio and television, and the visible church. Thankfully, God gave me a great desire to read the Bible, and also the discernment to realize that what I was hearing from others didn’t agree with the Bible and they both couldn’t be true. By God’s grace I consciously chose the Bible and that started my walk with Him in standing for the truth. By His Word He revealed my wicked nature and by His Word He administered His healing salve, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Praise God for His grace to me!
I have to say that it breaks my heart though, that the apostasy, that tried to engulf me, is so wide, so deep and so strong. Like a giant dust storm it has blown across the visible church and spread the shifting sands of demonic doctrines proclaimed by men throughout the visible church. The apostasy that rages today comes in many different shades, styles and versions. The one uniformity that binds it all together is its duplicitous disregard for the veracity of the Holy Scriptures, being devoid of the Holy Spirit, condemning and damning those it ensnares.
It is all so sad that the churches I once admired or thought well of have been revealed to be holds of demons and every foul bird. It is all so sad that the preachers, teachers, and evangelists I once thought faithful men of God are really apologists for the corrupt and vile one world church and leading the many to destruction. It is truly heartbreaking that those I once believed to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ along side of me are actually working for the enemy and strengthening his work amongst the sons of men. The avenues are broad and wide for this deceptive work and Satan has many outlets for spreading his lies: radio, television, internet, print media, churches, organizations, gatherings, individuals, etc.
Now that I know what I am really in for, believing and loving Jesus Christ, I am more determined to stand for the truth and reject the lie. I want to know Jesus Christ and grow in His grace. I want to share His gospel of salvation with others, I want to minister to my brethren in word and deed, I want to encourage others with the truth of His Word, I want to love those around me, I want to see His work done throughout this world, I want to suffer for His name’s sake. His grace and power are sufficient for all these longings of mine.
Normally I share Scripture, and I will, but these thoughts and feelings were uppermost in my mind and heart this evening. I desire that those who I’ve known and thought godly, but weren’t, would repent and trust Jesus Christ. I desire that God would do a great work in His church by bringing the lost sheep into His fold and strengthening the weak and harassed brethren through the faithful ministry of His Word the Bible. I desire that God would expose the charlatans and deliver His beloved from their evil wicked grasp. I desire that those who are willfully following the deceivers would be ministered to with the truth from the Scriptures by the Holy Spirit, turn from their wicked ways and turn to repentant and obedient reliance upon Christ, rejecting the foul flesh of man. I desire that believers would be united in their love of Christ, belief in His Word the Bible, walk in the Holy Spirit and love for one another.
God’s heart was for His people of Judah, even though they were rebelling against Him through worshiping false gods. He sent His prophets early and often to warn them to repent. There came a time though when the Lord commanded Jeremiah to not even pray for the people of Judah, because He would not listen to those prayers. I hope and pray that God hasn’t reached the end of His patience for those who are caught up in the lies of this world. Because of ministry of God’s Word to my heart by the Holy Spirit I have hope that we can still minister to and rescue those who are deceived, lost and perishing.
Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD. But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. Jeremiah 7:11-20
Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers. Jeremiah 7:25-26
For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice. Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked everyone in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not. And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers. Jeremiah 11:7-10
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened. And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear. They said, Turn ye again now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever: And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt. Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words, Jeremiah 25:3-8
If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings. And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you, To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened; Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth. Jeremiah 26:3-6
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them: Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 29:17-19
And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction. But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it. Jeremiah 32:33-34
Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD. The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me. I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me. Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me: Jeremiah 35:12-16
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein, Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers. Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate. But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods. Jeremiah 44:2-5
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:21-2
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:1-2
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James 5:17-20
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 1 Timothy 2:1-6
It is the Lord’s mercy that we are not consumed by His wrath. While it is still today let us seek the Lord, and rescue the deceived and save the lost. God our Father has already proven His desire through the salvation of each one of us; let us do His work with willing and expectant hearts believing Him as we entreat Him with prayer. May God bless us as we serve Him for His glory.
