God has promised to preserve His Word throughout all generations.
The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. You shall keep them, O Lord, you shall preserve them from this generation forever. Psalm 12:6-7
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations. Psalm 33:11
For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100:5
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89
For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Psalm 117:2
Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever. Psalm 119:152

Heaven and earth shall pass away; but My words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, and Luke 21:33
… having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever… 1 Peter 1:23
“But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:25
God Almighty has preserved His Word for His children; from the time that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible to the revelation given to the Apostle John regarding the last days, God has kept and secured His Word for us, His beloved children. God’s Word is our sure guide and counselor in this dark and desperate age. We can examine from the Scriptures the reasons that we should constantly and continually resort to the Bible for our well-being and progress in the faith of Jesus Christ.
First and foremost, the Word of God is the messenger of salvation!
Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith-to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen. Romans 16:25-26
For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,..1 Thessalonians 1:5-6
…and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15
Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures, James 1:18
…Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:25
Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and abides forever, because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:22-25
God uses His Word by His Holy Spirit to bring us to faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, through belief in the gospel. We are saved because we have believed the truth of God as presented to us in the Scriptures regarding His Son Jesus Christ, and the glorious work of God that Jesus did on our behalf in obedience to the Father. Any “message of salvation” that does not have its origins in the revelation of God, the Bible, but has its founding in the mind of man, is a false message and cannot save. When witnessing let us share the living Word of God and trust the Holy Spirit to do His work using His Word. When considering our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, let us go to the living Word of God and be edified by His truth. Let us not resort to the empty and garbled message of man that divides and leads astray.
Secondly, the Word of God is used by our loving heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to instruct us in all things pertaining to this life given to us through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. Luke 24:27
And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32
And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Luke 24:45
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4
Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon who the ends of the ages have come. 1 Corinthians 10:11
And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 2 Peter 1:19
Since Jesus Christ fulfilled Scripture concerning Himself, who better to ask for understanding and revelation of Him, when reading the Old Testament? I remember reading the passages in Luke 24 and asking Jesus Christ to reveal Himself to me as I read the Old Testament, and He heard and answered my prayer. As we read the Old and New Testaments God can and does encourage us in our faith, but He also reveals sinful attitudes and actions so we can repent and walk closely with Him. How many times has He used Proverbs to correct sin in my life? We have such a gracious and wonderful heavenly Father, aren’t we exceedingly blessed to have His Word to go to for correction and edification as applied to our hearts by the Holy Spirit?
Thirdly, it is the Word of God His servants use to edify, admonish and correct one another.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God my be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 2 Timothy 3:16-4:2
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:12-13
God’s Word is the means that He uses to build us up in our most holy faith and uses to conform us to the image of His Son. It is His Word the Holy Spirit uses to exhort, rebuke, and reveal our intentions and thoughts that are contrary to the truth. Those who are appointed by God to be teachers and preachers for the well-being of His body must teach and preach the Word of God and not their funny stories, vain imaginings or the ideas and meanderings of clueless sinful people. There is a huge industry raking in billions of dollars that produces books, movies, radio programs, etc. which have nothing at all whatsoever to do with the truth of the Word of God (although they slyly use Scriptures as a means of gaining trust) and instead are a means of making merchandise of God’s people, leading them into gross despicable destructive error. We must be discerning, listen to the voice of God spoken to us through His Word, throw off the works of darkness and hold fast to the revelation given to us by our gracious and loving heavenly Father in the written Word of God, the Bible.
