Truth testifies about the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar; because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:9-12
The testimony of truth regarding Jesus Christ the Son of God is found exclusively in the Bible. This testimony of truth regarding the Son of God, Jesus Christ, separates those who believe the Bible from those who do not. Placing one’s faith in Jesus Christ separates that one from the rest of humanity. Paul, commissioned by Jesus Christ Himself, preached the gospel to Jew and Gentile alike. Read what Jesus said to Paul when He commissioned him to go to the Gentiles.
…’to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me,’ Acts 26:18
Those who have put their faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of sins have eternal life, are under the power of God, and have a share in the inheritance of the Son of God. They are sanctified, set apart from all others by their faith in Jesus Christ.
The apostle John tells us in his first epistle that we cannot hold to the testimony of truth regarding Jesus Christ and a lie perpetrated by evil, unbelieving men.
I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 1 John 2:21
Any perversion or twisting of the truth regarding Jesus Christ, any departure from the sound doctrine of the Bible regarding the Son of God, shows that those who embrace and hold fast to such false teaching do not know the Son of God, Jesus Christ and are unbelievers.
18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us;…1 John 2:18-19
We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:6
The verse from 1 John 4:6 reiterates the declaration that Jesus Christ made to Pontius Pilate regarding the truth when He was facing execution.
…”Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” John 18:37
In John 14, 15, and 16 Jesus commissioned the apostles letting them know that the Holy Spirit would teach them all things, bring all things to their remembrance, and lead them into all truth.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you. John 14:26
So those who reject the Scriptures and substitute the empty doctrines of man regarding Jesus Christ, Who He is and what He has done for us, are showing that they are false teachers and unbelievers. Beware, for many that claim to be believers and teachers are actually wolves in sheep’s clothing. You will be able to spot them because they will substitute man’s opinion for the sound clear teaching of God’s Word.
19 “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 “But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” John 3:19-21
