As He Walked

As believers in Jesus Christ, that should be our goal, to emulate Jesus Christ so we are justified when we call ourselves Christians.  In 1 Peter, God the Holy Spirit, in His Holy Word the Bible, calls us to walk just as Jesus walked.  This call is diametrically opposed to what we think, what our flesh wants, or what much of the visible church teaches.

21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return, when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.  25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.  1 Peter 2:21-25

One thing to keep in mind is that Christ’s behavior was controlled by the divine purpose of His work to save sinners.  Through Christ’s humility He saved us when He died upon the cross bearing our sins, so that we can die to sins and live for righteousness, following our Savior, who is our Shepherd and Overseer.  All of this gives me great comfort and encouragement.  I hope you are encouraged too.

This passage comes after Peter exhorts slaves to be respectful to their masters whether they are kind or not, and after this passage, wives are encouraged to exhibit the same behavior.  This epistle ends with the declaration that living this way is the grace of God.  As we look to other verses in the New Testament Scriptures we can see this exhortation repeated over and over again, and we can read of Christ’s supreme example that we should follow for His glory and the blessing of others.

Before, I write out those other passages, I just want to confess that these verses are more for me than for anyone else.  I am sharing them because I believe we all struggle with the flesh, which is biblical truth.  I am far too often more concerned with my rights and well-being than I am with God’s glory and the benefit of others.  This exhortation speaks directly to my heart and I am thankful the Lord laid it upon my heart as I was cleaning up the kitchen this evening.  Jesus Christ is so kind and loving to us, praise His Holy Name.  Amen!

So the verse that I started to think about was out of Ephesians, the verse that exhorts us to walk worthy of the Lord with all lowliness.  I want to share that verse and then share a passage about Jesus Christ and His amazing, gracious lowliness.  Sharing godly exhortation through the Scriptures should encourage us in the love of Jesus Christ and incite within us a greater desire to obey and glorify Him, as laid out for us in God’s Holy Word, the Bible.  It is worth noting that the passage I share comes after God’s declaration of His glorious salvation and love given to His church, His beloved people.

1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.  Ephesians 4:1-2

Paul, God’s Apostle called out of due season, expressly emulates Christ’s behavior by being a prisoner of the Lord, not bewailing his imprisonment, but using it as a springboard to exhort his beloved brethren to walk the same way.  My beloved brethren, we are the ones to whom he is writing.  Paul’s lowliness caused him to consider his imprisonment only in the light of Christ’s calling and how it could further the gospel and minister to his brothers and sisters.  That is lowliness.  Not considering ourselves but considering others.  The lowliness must be with the right attitude of gentleness, longsuffering and love, not resentment or self-righteousness.  The Holy Spirit, through Paul, again exhorts us to follow Jesus Christ in lowliness in another passage in the Scriptures.

27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel…Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, bit in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.  4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.  5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.  9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.  Philippians 1:27 & 2:3-13

Again our beloved brother Paul exhorts us to walk worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the unity of the faith not allowing anything to keep us from esteeming others better than ourselves, instead being concerned with their well-being and interests.  Jesus Christ epitomized this perfectly when He left heaven, became a man and died upon the cross.  The love of God drove Him to deny Himself and His glory so that He could save us from our sins.  The end result is salvation of sinners, those who repent of their sins and put their faith in Jesus Christ, and the ultimate universal exaltation of Jesus Christ as Lord.  His name, Jesus, our Savior, is the unique name given to the only One Who can save His people from their sins.  As Christ’s beloved redeemed ones, we must follow Christ’s example by denying our wicked flesh and submitting to the will of our Father in heaven.  As we seek to obey and glorify God in all circumstances, He works in us to do His will for His good pleasure.  As God the Father honored God His Son, Jesus Christ, for His faithful obedience, He promises to honor all who will walk as Jesus walked, in all lowliness, humility and obedience, as we follow Jesus Christ our Savior.  Praise God for His work in us and praise God for His blessings to us through Jesus Christ.  Amen!

21 “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”  Matthew 1:21

26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also.  If anyone serves me, him My Father will honor.  John 12:26

12 By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.  1 Peter 5:12

Lord Jesus Christ how can we sufficiently thank You for all of Your goodness and love given to us.  May our lives be worthy of Your gospel, and may we follow You in lowliness of mind.  In Your name we pray.  Amen!

God’s Nation

There is only one nation of the face of the earth that is called to be God’s nation, and that is the nation of Israel.  They alone were specifically chosen of God to be His special people, a nation to follow His statutes and to dwell in the land that He gave them to possess.

1 “Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you.  2 You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you…7 For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?  8 And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day?  9 Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life.  And teach them to your children and your grandchildren, …Deuteronomy 4:1-2 & 7-9

20 “O, Lord, there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.  21 And who is like Your people Israel, the one nation on the earth whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people—to make for Yourself a name by great and awesome deeds, by driving out nations from before Your people whom You redeemed from Egypt?  22 For You have made Your people Israel Your very own people forever; and You, Lord, have become their God.  1 Chronicles 17:20-22

Israel did not keep God’s judgments, nor worship Him alone, and added to and took away from His Word; and God drove them from the land that He had given to them.  He promised to restore them to the land and He did, not once, but twice.  And so we see the nation of Israel dwelling in the land that God gave to them in national unrepentant unbelief.  This also is God’s plan, because He has sent a Savior, His Son Jesus Christ the Messiah to save for Himself a people from among the Gentiles to be His very own.  My brethren, this is the time of the Gentiles in God’s economy, until their number is fulfilled and then God promises to save His people, the nation of Israel.

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.  26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:  “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”  28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.  29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.  30 For you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.  Romans 11:25-31

God’s plan for all peoples is they repent and put their faith in His Son Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and reconciliation to God.

21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be the righteousness of God in Him.  1 We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.  2 For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”  Behold, now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.  2 Corinthians 5:21-6:2

If the peoples of any nation will repent of their sin and put their faith in Jesus Christ the Redeemer, then that nation will be blessed by God even though they are not His called out nation.  God’s people are only those who have believed the gospel and put their faith in the Savior Jesus Christ.  They have believed that God the Father sent Jesus Christ His Son to be Savior of the World that whosoever should believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life, because they believe that Jesus Christ died upon the cross for their sins, was buried and then rose again from the dead the third day, ascended into heaven sitting at the right hand of God on high, whose return for His church is imminent, and will come back to judge this world in righteousness as clearly taught throughout the Old and New Testaments.

If individuals of any nation collectively repent of their sin and believe in Jesus Christ they will be saved, and God will pour out His blessings upon that nation.  On the other hand, if the people of any land collectively reject Jesus Christ through worshipping a false Christ, rejecting His Holy Word the Bible and believe they can sin with impunity then God will withdraw His hand of blessing and allow calamity throughout that land.  America is experiencing calamity because the church has preached a corrupted gospel and rejected the Word of God, the Holy Bible as true.  If we want to see our nation turned around, then the church must repent and turn back to God.  May God pour out His Holy Spirit upon this nation and graciously grant us repentance to turn from our evil ways and be reconciled to God through His Son Jesus Christ.  We are witnesses to the destruction that is occurring within the nations that mock God and His Son Jesus Christ.  Do we think we are stronger than God?  We must repent!  The fruit of our lives will bear witness to His work of repentant faith within our hearts, that we are His saved children bound for heaven, saved from the terrors of hell which we deserve because of our sinful works, and delivered from the calamities reserved for the peoples of nations who reject the truth.

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.  15 Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority.  Let no one despise you.  1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.  3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasure, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.  4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  Titus 2:11-3:2

Lord Jesus Christ may we always remember that You are the only One Who can change the human heart and create a saved child of God bound for heaven living a life to please You.  May You bring many to repentant faith in You.  Amen!

Deadly Deception: Part Two

When the truth is replaced with lies, then we can expect deadly results.  This has happened throughout the history of the world.  We have witnessed the mass decimation of populations throughout the world due to the lies of leaders and corrupt governments.  The very first lie, Satan’s lie to Eve, plunged the world into chaos from which it won’t recover until Jesus Christ comes back to set things right.  At this time in our country we are reeling from the destructive consequences of the lies that come continually from our media.  Black Lives Matter rioters tear apart cities on the weakest of pretexts and now are promising to attack white people, no longer are they wanting peace and justice.  The radical Islamists are butchering people across our nation, and there are stories of sexual predation engaged in by these wicked extremists.  When a government no longer fulfills its God given duties of condemning the wicked and protecting the righteous it is no longer legitimate and should be overturned.  When it overthrows the law, as this administration and Hillary Clinton have done, then they no longer have the authority or right to be the governing body.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.  (2)  Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.  (3)  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:  (4)  For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.  (5)  Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.  Romans 13:1-5

Praise God we have the opportunity to right the wrong through our election process.  We are in the midst of an election for the President of the United States of America, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.  Hillary Clinton is being dogged by story after story of her corruption during her time as Secretary of State, much the same way Bill Clinton was continuously exposed for his wicked behavior.  Yet, unbelievably, there are people who seriously consider her to be a legitimate alternative to Donald Trump.  Trump isn’t being dogged by scandal after scandal, instead the corrupt media is parsing his words in order to distract from his policies and his reasoned expose’ of Clinton and Obama.  The media continuously disparages him on his remarks, all the while letting Clinton escape with the mildest of exposure.  Today, while watching the Fox program The Five, I saw this coordinated effort against Trump in full swing.

Jesse Waters, a guest on the show, but a Fox employee, did not give a fair and accurate accounting of what Trump laid out as his plan against ISIS.  So those of you who think that Fox is somehow, fair and balanced, think again.  They just have a subtler way of insinuating their disdain for Trump.  Rather than give the meat of the speech, Waters tore apart what little he did comment on, and then said he should have written another speech.  The regular hosts agreed.  Well it just so happens that Trump released the transcript of this speech, and I am including it in this post.  He gives credible policy to end the rise of ISIS and remove these radical Islamists from our nation, all the while speaking the truth about how Obama and Hillary helped to set up our current tenuous situation through their lies, deceptions, and immoral policies to enable the rise of these radical jihadists.  This present administration has excelled in reducing our security.  Hillary worked right along with Obama to fundamentally change our nation, from one of hope and promise to one of uncertainty and insecurity.

The deadly deception coming from Obama, Clinton, and the mainstream media will only lead to continued death, destruction and degradation.  May we be wise to vote for Trump and reject all the lies against him, and the propaganda supporting the disastrous policies of Obama and Clinton.  The following links expose their lies and the promise of change that Trump is championing.

An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.  (10)  When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.  (11)  By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.  Proverbs 11:9-11

Dear Lord Jesus Christ please deliver us from this deadly deception that will destroy our country.  May you keep Trump safe and give him the victory in November.  May You bless our country.  Amen!

Diabolical Deception

Jesus Christ was born into a nation ensnared by lies and murderous treachery against God and His people as shown by Herod’s savage slaughter of innocent children when he was deceived by the wise men.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, (2) Saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.  (3)  When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.  (4)  And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.  (5)  And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, (6) And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule My people Israel.  (7) Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.  (8)  And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the Young Child; and when ye have found Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.  Matthew 2:1-8

The chief priests and scribes told the king where Jesus was born, but like him, they didn’t go to find Him so they could worship Him.  They were troubled!  Herod was so troubled that it led him to murder children approximating the age of Jesus to make sure to get rid of the Christ.

(12)  And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.  (13)  And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the Young Child and His mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the Young Child to destroy Him.  (14)  When he arose, he took the Young Child and His mother by night, and departed into Egypt:  (15)  And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called My Son.  (16)  Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.  (17)  Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, (18) In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.  Matthew 2:12-18

Jesus Christ continuously fought against this diabolical deception that enshrouded the land of Israel in a smothering smog of treacheryHis forerunner, John the Baptist, exposed the wicked hypocrisy of the governmental and religious elites occupying Israel with non-genteel terms.

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,  (2)  And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  (3)  For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.  (4)  And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.  (5)  Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,  (6)  And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.  (7)  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  (8)  Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:  (9)  And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.  (10)  And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  (11)  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:  (12)  Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor, and gather His wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.  Matthew 3:1-12

Jesus also spoke the truth to these deceivers, expressly declaring to them their origination being from the devil which explained their wicked rejection of Him.

They answered and said unto Him , Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.  (40)  But now ye seek to kill Me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.  (41)  Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to Him , We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.  (42)  Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love Me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent Me.  (43)  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.  (44)  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  (45)  And because I tell you the truth, ye believe Me not.  (46)  Which of you convinces Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe Me?  (47)  He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.  (48)  Then answered the Jews, and said unto Him , Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?  (49)  Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honor my Father, and ye do dishonor Me.  (50)  And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.  (51)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. John 8:39-51

Diabolical deception led the Jews to believe they were of God, but Jesus Christ was of the devil, when indeed, the opposite was true.  The devil had them convinced they belonged to God, and because Jesus Christ convicted them of their sin and the imminent judgment hanging over them, they were furious and plotted to kill Him.  They had the power and the means because this network of diabolical deception covered the nation ensnaring all stations of life so that it was easy from them to convince the governance and populace that Jesus Christ must be executed for blasphemy and treason.  Praise God it was His plan to send His Son to die in our place that we can be forgiven for our sins and be reconciled to God through repentant faith in His Son Jesus Christ and belief in the gospel.

It is distressing to realize that this same network of diabolical deception has bound our nation in a conceit of deceit that blinds people, media, government and churches to what is really going on here.  Our nation is being led to the slaughter by deceptive con men and women, frauds and felons, who want to cripple our nation and enslave the people for their own nefarious purposes and aggrandizement.  It is a reproach to the United States of America that Hillary Clinton has support from the people and complicit defense from the media and government.  She is thoroughly corrupt and unfit to be president of the United States of America, and if it wasn’t for the people choosing their own candidate rather than the establishment pick, then her presidency would be guaranteed, just as Barak Hussein Obama’s presidency was a sure outcome as he competed against McCain and Romney for the presidency.  Dear readers we are in a fight for our lives, and we must come together to support the nominee that the people chose, rather than the globalist elites, we must support Trump!  We do not have the redemption story as the outcome of the continued overthrow of our nation by the globalist elites.  We will suffer further degradation under a Hillary presidency, loss of freedom and likely loss of life.  For believers in Jesus Christ, we know that if we die we are present with the Lord, but how can we stand by enabling the corruption of our nation and threat of destruction to our children, grandchildren, and fellow citizens?  To not vote for Trump is an act of misplaced sanctimony and furthers the spread of diabolical deception.

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment. 1Chronicles 12:32

Lord Jesus Christ, please give us understanding of the times that we may know what to do.  We look to You.  We pray that You would expose the diabolical deception of the government under Barak Obama, the campaign of Hillary Clinton, and the coverage by the media.  We pray that You would protect Donald Trump and encourage him to continue to expose the evil that has become entrenched in our country, and to speak the truth about what needs to be done.  May he be encouraged to seek You and Your strength, to turn from sin and believe in You.  Only You can turn our country around.  Thank You Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen!

Deluded Deception

We can often wonder about those who willfully and knowingly oppose Jesus Christ and His glorious Word, the Holy Scriptures, with a lie or numerous lies.  Don’t they read the Bible?  Don’t they know the terrible eternal fate that awaits them unless they repent?  It is there for all to read and understand recorded for us in the Book of Revelation.

What about Satan?  Doesn’t he know that he is bound for eternal destruction because he continuously attacks and accuses the brethren?  Doesn’t he realize his wicked rebellion against the King of kings and Lord of lords is futile and doomed to destruction?  Deluded deceivers who follow the example of their fallen father are piling up vengeance on the day of God’s wrath.

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,  (8)  And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.  (9)  And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.  (10)  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  (11)  And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  (12)  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  (13)  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  (14)  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  (15)  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:7-15

Beloved brethren what happens to a nation when those who lead it and those who inform it are deluded deceivers?  We have numerous examples throughout history of the toll upon the populace of those nations who are thus led astray.  If we study the last century glaring examples shout watch out from the list of nations destroyed by deluded deceivers.  The nations we are most familiar which are Germany, Russia, the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Vietnam, but there are countless other nations that experienced the same fate of murderous lying regimes that subjugated their people with harsh repression and reprisals.  Do not be deceived my beloved brethren our nation is on the fast track to this same sort of governance.  We have deluded deceivers within our informational systems that are supporting one of the most corrupt POTUS candidates to ever seek that exalted position.  They cover over the numerous lies, and vile behavior of Hillary Clinton, while cleverly vilifying Donald Trump with their orchestrated castigations.  They have their legion of treacherous thugs to intimidate and attack any and all who reject their lies.  They are following their leader, Lucifer.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  (10)  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. Revelation 12:9-10

When the press supports, knowingly lies for, and viciously attacks the opposition candidate for a convincingly corrupt candidate we know that we are no longer the home of the brave and the land of the free.  There is so much this wicked press refuses to expose about Clinton, but they continuously attack and malign Trump on his rejection of their scheme of character assassination.  The media is 100% viciously opposed to Trump as acknowledged by one of their own Gene Greenwald.  The media allows the wicked treachery of Hillary Clinton to go by unscathed, but when attacked by a Goldstar family at the DNC, and Trump has legitimate questions about this family who lost their son to Islamist extremists he is decried and decreed unfit by the national media!  Who is unfit, the woman who put our national security at risk through unlawful use of a private email server through which classified information was transferred and used the Secretary of State as a means of aggrandizement, or a man who asks questions?  Who is unfit, the woman who when repeatedly begged refused to increase security at a diplomatic outpost in a hostile nation, left our ambassador and three others to die to ostensibly cover her tracks for arms dealing to Syrian jihadists, or a man who wants to protect our nation with wise foreign policy?  Who is unfit, the woman who wants to bring unvetted Syrian refugees into our nation so mayhem and terror can reign and she can establish dictatorial powers, or a man who sees the threat and wants to protect our country from a hostile invasion?  Who is unfit, a woman whose lies and evil behavior are continuously papered over by the wicked media, or the man who is the target of their relentless attack?

Beloved brothers and sisters we either see the evil, expose it as evil by serious acts of bravery and decency or we acquiesce to the wicked intentions being devised by the devil and his cohorts against the United States of America.  We either support the opposition candidate, no matter how the media maligns him, remembering that his misdeeds do not in any way approximate the wickedness of Hillary Clinton, or we continue to abide in a nation heading for destruction.  If, as Scripture says, that government is constituted by God, then how can we abide the takeover of our lawful and peaceful form of government by those that want to depose the United States of America so they can set up their globalist agenda making us all serfs and vassals for their prosperity and power.  Do not shrug at the evil but fight it for the good of your family and this nation!

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.  (7)  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.  (8)  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  (9)  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)  (10)  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.  (11)  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.  (12)  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.  (13)  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.  (14)  Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.  (15)  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  (16)  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:6-16

Lord Jesus Christ please awaken Your people to the imminent peril that awaits this nation if Hillary Clinton becomes president.  Please expose the wicked agenda of Clinton, Obama, and the media against this nation and against Trump.  May Your goodness prevail in this nation even though we sure don’t deserve it.  We praise Your name.  Amen!

Divided Word

Recently I had a truly sad encounter with another blogger who is being deceived by the enemy of her soul and most likely some sort of illness.  The sorrowful result is that she is very confused and is mishandling the Word of truth.  She is not rightly dividing the Word of God.  Based upon a certain text of the Scripture, she is convinced that many are not saved.  Here is the passage that the enemy is unfortunately using against her soul.

And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  (16)  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  (17)  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  (19)  So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.  (20)  And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.  Mark 16:15-20

My dear sister has contended that she is demonized and since no one has been able to cast out her demons they are not saved.  She has also stated that anyone who has considered her a believer proves they are lost because the Holy Spirit did not give to them the discernment to know that she is lost, which is what she believes.  Sadly, she is being deceived by the enemy and is unwilling to rightly divide the Word of truth to deliver her from this terrible deceit.  It is through comparing Scripture with Scripture that we can discern that what she believes does not come from the Savior of our souls.

To bring proper perspective in our study we have to realize that God’s Word encompasses all of the Scriptures.  We can compare the recorded Word of Jesus Christ with His Word revealed through the apostle Paul.  We have to remember that all of Scripture comes from God and has been written and preserved for His purposes which includes correction and reproof of His children.

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy 3:16-17

11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.  12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through revelation of Jesus Christ.  Galatians 1:11-12

15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.  2 Peter 3:15-16

The Holy Spirit has revealed to us through the apostle Paul that there are many gifts that accompany our salvation, and they are different from each other.  We cannot expect everyone to have the same exact God given gifts for He distributes His gifts according to His will as revealed in the following Scriptures.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.  (4)  For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: (5) So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.  (6)  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; (7) Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; (8) Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.  Romans 12:3-8

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  (5)  And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.  (6)  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.  (7)  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.  (8)  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; (9) To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; (10) To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: (11) But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.  (11)  If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11

So these passages speak to the truth that Jesus Christ gifts us as He sees fit for the benefit of His children who are members of His body.  We all have Holy Spirit gifts for God’s glory and the edification of our brothers and sisters.  Not everyone will be able to speak with tongues, to prophesy, to heal the sick, to cast out demons.  Some have gifts that are not spectacular but are gifts of the Holy Spirit nonetheless, gifts such as giving, ministering, mercy, discerning and knowledge.  These gifts all come from the Holy Spirit who is given to us through faith in Jesus Christ.  These believers may not be able to cast out demons, but they can serve God in the manner in which they have been equipped for His glory and the blessing of others.  One other thing to keep in mind is that casting out demons is not an indication of salvation.

Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.  (22)  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?  (23)  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23

God has given to use the seal of the work of salvation in the soul of the believer and it really has nothing to do with spiritual gifts.  Receiving the Word of truth is the sine qua non of salvation.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.  (6)  And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 1Thessalonians 1:5-6

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.  1 Thessalonians 2:13

Finally, the apostle Paul, who was gifted by God with apostolic gifts received Demas as a believer until he proved otherwise.  We can see the same sort of occurrence with Simon the magician who was accepted as a believer until his behavior proved otherwise.

There salute thee Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus; (24) Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow laborers.  Philemon 1:23-24

Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. Colossians 4:14

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.  2 Tmothy 4:10

Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.  (14)  Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: (15)  Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:  (16)  (For as yet He was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)  (17)  Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.  (18)  And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, (19) Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.  (20)  But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.  (21)  Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.  (22)  Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.  (23)  For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.  (24)  Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.  Acts 8:13-24

We take professions of faith at their face value until it is proven otherwise.  I can’t bring myself to cast anathema at my friend, but I can say that she is grievously deceived and does desperately need the deliverance of the Lord.  May He act speedily for her benefit and His glory.  Please pray with me for her deliverance and restoration to our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen!

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  1 John 4:7

Lord Jesus Christ please do a mighty work in this woman’s heart for her blessing and Your glory.  Thank You that You have given to us Your Word and Your Spirit that we may rightly divide the Word of truth and so avoid the deceit of the enemy.  May Your great name be forever praised.  Amen!

God’s Good Word: Ephesians 6:10-24

God’s grace in our lives through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus changes our relationship with Him, our fellow believers, our family members, and workplace bosses and supervisors, but it also changes our relationship with the enemy of our souls, Satan.  No longer is he at work in us through our sinful disobedience, no through faith in Jesus Christ we are now empowered by His equipping to withstand and victoriously overcome all of the attacks of the enemy.  This is wonderful glorious good news.  However, we must never be impressed with this advantage that we now have, rather we should always marvel that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  The Holy Spirit through Paul teaches us to withstand the wiles of the enemy through God’s supernatural provisions so that we can stand faithful for Him to the end.

(10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.  (11)  Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  (12)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Ephesians 6:10-12

We must always remember that our sufficiency to wage this battle comes from the Lord Jesus Christ and His mighty power.  We are not sufficient in ourselves to fight this battle against the diabolical forces of darkness.  They are well managed and well equipped, by ourselves we are easily defeated, but through Jesus Christ we can overcome all the attacks of the enemy.  We must also realize that we battle an unseen foe, although he often works against us through flesh and blood.  Our battle is not against them but against the unseen enemy who has taken them captive to do his will.  The armor of God equips us so we can battle the enemy while seeking to set his captives free.

(13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  (14)  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  (16)  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  (17)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  (18)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;  (19)  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,  (20)  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.  Ephesians 6:13-20

The evil day is all about us, and we must stand steadfast in the armor of God.  We can overcome the evil of this day by standing steadfast in the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, by standing firm in God’s Word the Holy Bible, and by walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth.  We are equipped not only with the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, but also with the righteousness of living in obedience to God’s Holy Word by the Holy Spirit.  We can overcome the work of the enemy in the lives of his captives by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The gospel is the power of God for salvation to all who believe.  Our faith in Jesus Christ is more than sufficient to extinguish all of the fiery attacks of the enemy that are designed to undermine our walk with the Lord and our trust in Him.  Our faith is strengthened as we know the Word of God and trust and obey the God of the Word.  Redemption reassurance restricts the ability of the enemy to attack our hearts and minds.  As we rest in the assurance of salvation we can battle against the accusations of the enemy with the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.  The Holy Spirit not only uses His Holy Word to reassure us of His redeeming love, but also to equip us to understand His Holy Word so we cannot be led astray by the work of Satan through deceitful false brethren.  Finally, praying in the Holy Spirit, supplicating God for His blessings, mercy, grace and deliverance, allows us to be soldiers of the cross, upholding others in their ministry for Him, and partaking in the work of the gospel as it is broadcast throughout the world.

(21)  But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:  (22)  Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.  (23)  Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  (24)  Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. To the Ephesians written from Rome, by Tychicus.  Eph 6:21-24

Paul’s valediction encompasses the exhortation of this entire letter, in that it refers back to the relationship that we have with one another through the salvation that comes from faith in Jesus Christ, we are one in Christ Jesus.  Jesus Christ has redeemed us from all unrighteousness and given us eternal life through His death upon the cross and resurrection from the dead and so we experience His work of grace in our lives and we reciprocate with sincere love for Jesus Christ and for the brethren.  May Christ’s love constrain us to live for Him and love one another.  Amen!

(3) We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,  (4)  Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,  (5)  For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;  (6)  Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:  (7)  As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;  (8)  Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. Colossians 1:3-8

Lord Jesus Christ thank you that Your victory is our victory, that we can steadfastly overcome the attacks of the enemy in this evil day and stand for you.  May You call out Your children from the apostasy that has overtaken the visible church, and may You make them victorious through Your might and power.  May we Your children be faithful for You.  Amen
